blu26 – SUI 05 wins the winterchallenge on Lake Geneva

The winterchallenge on Lake Geneva is organised by Cercle de la Voile de Vidy (CVV). It started on the 1st of November and ended on Sunday the 5th of April. Five regattas were sailed in total. The blu26 SUI 05 was sailed by the Voiles Gautier around Christoph Peclard. In a tight race between the blu26 and the Esse 850 SUI100, the blu26 team was able to secure the over all win in the last race. We are proud of this result and congratulate the team for their great work.

Following the Suisse Nautic, Bluboats will greet the spring in the Ticino. In cooperation with the Cicolo Velico Lago di Lugano (CVLL), we will be presenting our yachts at the Lugano Nautica boat show. From April 2nd to 5th, a blu26 will be exhibited at the CVLL stand, and a second blu26will be ready in the fair’s harbor for test sails. Christian Scherrer, Christian Bolinger and Massimiliano Marafon will be awaiting you in Lugano at stand no. F72-78 and in the harbor.

Match Race Swiss Championship in Lugano 
From April 16th to 19th the best Swiss match racers who qualified in 2008 for the SUI Match Race Tour will compete against each other for the Swiss championship title. In addition to the Swiss experts, foreign teams will also be allowed to compete. This regatta is being organized by the CVLL. And as at the Tour stops in 2008 in Zurich and Zug, a fleet of blu26 will be on the water in Lugano. This event is part of the qualification series for the World Match Racing Tour; in addition to the title of Swiss Champion, the winner will receive and invitation to the prestigious St. Moritz Match Race.

Zug Match 21
More Match Race activities with the blu26 fleet will take place in the summer on the Lake of Zug. The Yacht Club Zug will host the ZugMatch21 on the weekend of July 4th – 5th. This event is part of the SUI Match Race Tour and will be sailed on a fleet of blu26. As of this spring, Yacht Club Zug will have four blu26 yachts in the harbor, and is therefore an important base for the fleet.

St. Moritz Match Race 

The crowning conclusion of the blu26 Match Race activities in 2009 will be, as last year, the St. Moritz Match Race in the Engadine. This unique event is part of the World Match Racing Tour and therefore counts towards the world championship of Match Racing of the International Sailing Federation. Big names in sailing will be out competing on the Lake of St. Mortiz on blu26 boats; besides last year’s winner, Mathieu Richard (FRA), the double world champion Ian Williams (GBR) and Alinghi skipper Ed Baird (USA) will also be at the start.

blu26 Class Regattas
Following the huge success of the Bluboats Cup on the Lake of Thun in the fall of 2008, owners ofblu26 boats will meet on various Swiss lakes for a short series of class regattas:

Herbstpreis, Zürcher Yacht Club, 4./5. Oktober 2009
Bluboats Cup lake of Thun, November 2009

In addition to these class regattas, the the Romano & Christen Sailing Team will compete in all the long-distance regattas on the Lake of Lucerne in their brand-new SUI 10.

Representation in Southern Germany 
We are especially pleased to introduce here our new representative for Southern Germany: Florian Hornsteiner and Stephan Eder’s “sailingcenter – Segelsport am Tegernsee” will be taking care of our Southern German customers beginning immediately. As of May ’09, the sailingcenter will have two new blu26’s and is planning several exciting match racing events. We are looking forward to a successful collaboration with our new partners.

bluboats – Suisse Nautic in Berne


Suisse Nautic takes place from February 14 – 22, 2009 in Bern.
In time for the upcoming start of the sailing season, we are happy to present to you our elegant and sporty yachts. The bluboats Team, around Christian Scherrer, Christian Bolinger and Mark Griesmaier, is looking forward to welcoming you in Booth B013 in Hall 220. In the booth we will be showing a blu26, in the outer area a blu30 and yet another blu26.

blu26 – Challenge d’hiver

Christophe Peclard and his team are currently participating in the Winter Challenge in Vidy, Lake Geneva, on a blu26. The racing series consists of 6 middle- to long leg courses, being sailed on six Saturdays from November through to April. So far two races have been sailed, in which Christophe Peclard demonstrated the potential of the blu26, finishing 2nd and 1st.

Bluboats Cup – Victory for Michel Vaucher

After the five races of yesterday, two other races had been sailed today sunday. Michel Vaucher from the Club Nautique Morgien extended his lead by winning both races in a light northerly breeze. Team Bohren of Zug Sailing secured it’s second place and the team from the Yacht Club of Zürich with skipper Beat Müller moved up to thrid place by finishing second in both races.

After a short Prizegiving bluboats honoured the effort of the Bluboats Cup event partners, espacially the Sailing School Berner Oberland, Paraloc, Kaenon and ZugSailing.

Bluboats Cup – Day 1

The first day of the Bluboats Cup was hold on a lovely late autumn day. After a short welcoming and the skipper meeting by the two company owners Christian “Blumi” Scherrer and Christian Bolinger the fleet of nine blu26 headed off to sail five races in a steady 1-2 Beaufort breeze. Michel Vaucher and his sailing team of the Club Nautique Morgien dominated the fleet and are in a comfortable lead with 6 points. Followed by the Team Bohren of Zugsailing with 11 points and the crew of Claus Nehrig who came down all the way from Kiel DE.

bluboats – Bluboats Cup 2008


The first Bluboats Cup will take place in Hilterfingen this coming weekend (8/9.11.2008). The event will be held by Bluboats and Sailingschool Berner Oberland. All eight boats, which were produced this year and the prototype of last year will take part in this very first blu26 one design regatta. Exciting racing is to be sure! Furthermore the blu30 will be out on the water, following the racing and available for test sailing.

blu26 – Zug Match 21

As part of the Swiss Sailing Match Race Tour the Zug Match 21 took place on four blu26in the Yachtclub Zug on the weekend of October 26 and 27. Eight skippers sailed nearly a full round robin on saturday in light but steady conditions. On Sunday the breeze died and no more races could be sailed. The team of the Monnin brothers, this time together with Enrico de Maria and Simon Brügger, remained unbeaten and won the event in front of Team Aloha and Team Bohren.
