The Sailing Center on the Tegernsee in southern Germany recently opened their doors under the management of Stefan Eder and Florian Hornsteiner.
Since the beginning of July, the Sailing Center has used its two new blu26, GER11 and GER12. Apart from a sailing school, the center organizes events and is the official bluboats distributor for the blu26 in southern Germany.
The bluboats team is very happy to have the sailing center as a new partner.

For more than a week in July, the blu26 SUI10 sailed intensively on Lake Lucerne under the auspices of the Lucerne-based architectural office of Romano&Christen.
In addition to racing, the proud sponsor of the latest blu26 in Switzerland is using its yacht apart for hospitality sailing with their clients. The elegant black hull and teak deck give this blu26 a particularly stylish look.

The first blu26 regatta of the season took place at the end of May on the Lake of Zug. On Saturday, seven blu26 boats competed in the long distance race Goldschäkel organized by the Immensee Yacht Club. Sunday saw them in six fleet races on the water in front of the Yacht Club Zug. Both days were marked by brilliant sunshine and good wind, which allowed all the teams to thoroughly enjoy themselves.

The long distance race on Saturday was narrowly won by Team blunote SUI 03 skippered by Fabio Müller. Second place was taken by SUI 02 with Nick Zumbühl at the helm, followed by Thomas Grob on SUI 07 in third. In the overall ranking of the group of 30 boats, Fabio Müller with the blu26 was the winner, and Bruno Imhof on an Esse 850 was second.

The fleet races on Sunday started at 10:00 and thanks to very favorable winds, six races could be held by 15:00. The day was clearly dominated by skipper Philip Peikert and his crew of Monnin, Pieper and Gschwend, who won four races. The blunote team gave Peikert and the “local matador” Monnin a good run for their money.

With the distance race counting double, plus the six races on Sunday, the final rankings for theblu26 Zugerseecup 2009 are as follows:

1. SUI 01 – Philipp Peikert, bluone

2. SUI 03 – Fabio Müller, blunote

3. SUI 02 – Nick Zumbühl / Markus Bohren, blutwo

4. SUI 07 – Urs Oldani / Thomas Grob

5. SUI 04 – Stephan Eder

6. SUI 06 – Wiki Apholt / Gianpietro Cerletti

7. SUI 10 – Benjamin Flückiger, Romano & Christen

The first blu26 showing a stylish teak deck was christened on the 1st of May 2009 in the small village of Udilgenswil above Lake Lucerne. For this, Neptun left his waters to come up into the hills of central Switzerland and named the blu26 SUI 10 by the name of “Kraftraum” – meaning as much as “power room” in German. The name lies in connection to the activity of the sponsor: Romano & Christen is a well known, successful architecture company based in Lucerne.
The christening was followed by a short speech from bluboats designer Christian Bolinger and a heaving party with a life band until the early morning of the May the 2nd.

blu26 – Team Morinho wins the Match Race Swiss Championships

The favorits lost their semi-finals that is why the final of the SUI Match Race Tour 2008 was an unexpected one between Portugal and the United States. Alvaro Marinho (POR) has won against Sally Barkow (USA).

After abort of the Round Robin at the end of yesterday’s racing, Eric Monnin (SUI), Ian Ainsli (RSA), Alvaro Marinho (POR) and Sally Barkow (USA) started the semi-finals at the Circolo Velico Lago di Lugano this morning having good weather conditions. As pick of the bunch from Round Robin, the Swiss Eric Monnin could choose the one he’d wish to sail the semi-final, which were executed again in blu26 boats.

Surprisingly, he decided to challenge Sally Barkow, even though he had lost against her in Round Robin. Likewise surprisingly, the ladies won this semi-final, which meant that Monnin had to be content with the petite final. Ian Ainslie, the predominant favorit, lost his semi-final, too, against the Portugese Alvaro Morinho. The final between Barkow und Morinho had to be cancelled after two races due to a lack of wind with a standing of 0 – 2. Therewith the crew of Alvaro Morinho won the final of the SUI Match Race Tour 2008.

The architecture office Romano & Christen which is based in Lucerne, will be christening a newblu26 on May the 1st 2009. To reflect upon the aesthetics of their work, the boat will be finished in black, smoothly combined with a teak deck. The style of Romano & Christen harmonises well with the elegance of the blus, designed by Bolinger. Therefore a future collaboration of these stakeholders shall bring further projects onto the water and land. As start this black beauty will be sailed on Lake Lucerne and other Swiss lakes over the next years by a bluboats Team.
