Team Flessati wins Fleet Race Battle Engadin

Eighteen teams from Switzerland and Germany traveled to St. Moritz on the 5th-6th September, for the Fleet Race Battle Engadin within the Blu26 St. Moritz Cup.

A training session on Friday with Christian “Blumi” Scherrer was followed by long sailing hours on Saturday for the qualification rounds. Set to begin shortly after noon by race officer Marc Knöpfel thanks to a light northerly wind, it was overseen by umpire Heiko Flach. They races where short, exciting and with many lead changes. On Sunday morning the Bronze, Silver and Golden fleets were finally defined and went on to fight the final battle.

First overall was Julian Flessati and his team from the Regatta Club Bodensee, 2nd blunote with Beat Müller from the Zurich Yacht Club, and 3rd the Seedammpiraten, skippered by Christa Kuster. Prizes included ski weekends, generous supplies of Passuger, Engadin Mountains railway day passes and Engadin nut cake.

Many thanks to St. Moritz Tourism, all partners, the race committee and all their helping hands, and to the Sailing Club St. Moritz, who made this great event possible.
